Why Kevlar Outer Braid & E-Marker Chips Matter for 240W USB-C Cables

Channeling 48V / 5A Extended Power Range without voltage sag or thermal melt demands 20 AWG oxygen-free copper and active CC-line microcontrollers.

Why Kevlar Outer Braid & E-Marker Chips Matter for 240W USB-C Cables

With the release of USB Power Delivery 3.1, laptop charging standards expanded from 100W up to a massive 240W (48V at 5A). Passing this level of electrical current through cheap off-the-shelf cables presents severe fire hazards and thermal meltdowns.

The Critical Role of the E-Marker Chip

Every Marstron 240W Armored cable features an integrated E-Marker (Electronic Marking) microprocessor in the connector housing. Before your charger delivers 48 Volts, the host device reads the encrypted handshake data from the cable. If the cable lacks 5A copper thickness or E-Marker validation, power is safely capped at 60W.

DuPont Kevlar Weave & Strain Relief Geometry

To eliminate internal wire fracture at the neck connector, we reinforced the outer jacket with genuine ballistic-grade DuPont Kevlar fibers. The laser-welded zinc alloy housing and extended SR boots withstand over 35,000 aggressive bend cycles under a 10kg load test.
